Basically, just choose a phone and service you think you will like. The most important part about cell phones is making sure that it works where you need it to work. Cingular, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and NEXTEL all have their good points and bad points. I like T-Mobile for the price. It works pretty good for me and I don't have to pay a lot for the minutes. Most of my friends went with Cingular because of the places they go and my family went with Verizon to save on long distance calling. I used to have NEXTEL, it was okay, but where I live I get better coverage from T-Mobile. And in my area Sprint is supposed to be good as well.

The point amagorno makes without really saying it is it really is best to look at the carrier's plans FIRST, and then look for the phone. You may not get all the features you are looking for initially, but it is better to have a phone that works where you need it and doesn't cost three arms and two legs to do so.
