Problems with Cingular!!!

Feb 13, 2006, 10:45 AM
As I understand, the phone works fine on Cingular, but for all the functions to work properly browser settings have to be changed.
Can someone who has done this post here the exact procedure to follow. SO that future users will be able to do this quickly and painlessly!!!

Thank you!!!

PS. Has anyone got their MMS working on Cingular? It should work once the browser settings are correct, however this doesn't seem to be the case for many users.

I paid 25 to have my MMS programed to work right. You need the correct gateway IP programed in your phone for it to work.

If you go to ialsCategory=Getting+Started, you'll get to go where cingular tech support gets their browser, sms, and mms settings. I know it's for a razr, but the settings and menus should be fairly similar. With a little creative thinking, you should be able to find all you need. I hope this helps...if it doesn't, let us know.

Has anyone just called cingular and ask them to do an OTA (over the air) flash to update the phone/sim card? I know T Mobile does this... switched a cingular phone over to t-mobile this way.

Everything works fine for me. Just go to cingular site, then to support and pick device support and then pick a razr v3. Scroll down a little and pick the internet settings. Enter those but ignore anything with CSD(just don't enter it). Next go back to v3 screen on cingular page and pick mms settings. Now enter those. When it tells you to go under MMS choices on your phone it tells you to highlight MMS, but that may not be there. Just edit another one that is already there and you should be all set. Also make sure you are set up for MMS with Cingular.

I have set everything up and I can access the cingular mall. Thanks for that tip. I can have the message sent to my phone with the link to buy a ringtone or graphic, but when I click into the message and go to the link, and click "accept", it comes up with and error "419: Page Cannot Be Found"...I'm wondering if the gateway IP should be set for a PEBL, not for a Razr??? This is giving me a headache.

how did you set it up? I followed the directions, but I don't have the cingular mall icon.

I followed the steps above, but I still can't get the cingular mall icon. Any ideas?

Why would you transfer to Cingular anyway??? Their customer service is horrific as well as their un-decipherable bills. Eh?

I've been with Cingular for over 4 years now and have never had any problems with them. I've had to contact customer service to set up my web but they were very helpful and very quick about it, there were no problems at all. I've also never had any problems with billing. Don't know maybe I just got lucky?
