I have a song set as my ring-tone now, but none of the other songs are in the ring-tone pick list. I noticed that the song I am using now is in a "Tone" folder... how it got there I have no idea! Do I need to move others to that folder in order to set them as ring-tones? If so, how do I move them... I sure don't remember how I did it in the first place. 😕
...
Yeah, when I first got my phone I had to move them to the 'tone' folder to actually use them but now I don't have to. which is sort of odd. But if you want to move them you can use the file manager on the nokia pc suite which is a lot easier.. just copy and paste in the tone folder on your phone you're going to have to go into menu>tools>file manager
and if your songs are in your memory card then go there or if they're on the phone then change them
...
If you access your songs through the 'Gallery,' there is an option to use mp3 as a ring tone. That way you don't have to move any folders.
...
Where exactly is it that you found that option to use mp3 as ringtone? I can't find it.
...
I got it to work by moving the file. Thank you for your help! I don't have an option in my gallery to set as ring tone.
...
yeah. I dont' have that choice in my gallery either.

This is the way I do it: open up RealPlayer (comes with your phone) - then open "saved clips" - don't choose to open "mem. card sound clips" because you will get a partial list- Realplayer on this phone only makes mp3 song lists that are 100 songs long (stupid!) If you choose "saved clips" then browse to their location (probably, like me, it's memory card/my music) you can view all of the music tracks on the memory card without Realplayer having to make a song list. Be patient, if you have a lot of songs on your memory card, it will take a few seconds to load them all.... Because if you're like me, this is also your mp3 player (that headset adapter by Nokia is essential, *wish* this had come with a 3.5mm jack) and you have at least a 1 gig ...

Where did you get your adapter from?
...
i got mine off of ebay it cost me about 5 bucks after shipping
...
I have one too. Got mine for about the same price from ebay as well. Make sure if you're on ebay though that you check out the pics. There are a couple of styles of adapters out there for this phone.
Also...as far as the ring tones go. Really, all you have to do is go to the gallery and go to tracks. Select the track you want ( and this is the part I forgot to mention earlier, sorry) You can't add the tone as a ring while the song is playing, so you have to press stop, and then select options. Then just select set as ringing tone, and you're done.

Why not just go into your profile, edit it and change your ringing tone there??? The way you people are doing it seems like you are adding alot of steps.
...
If your mp3 files are in a music folder rather than a sound folder, they won't show up when you go to your profile, edit and change your ringing tone. It may depend on whether or not your phone came from Cingular or unlocked from Nokia. There may have been directories and folders already created on one that were not on the other.
