Here is the update......
Three weeks after I requested my code, I hadn't heard any news. They said it would take 3 to 5 business days. anyway, i got this spaced out person that just did not understand what this whole thing with the unlock code was about. Finally she looked around and gave me a code....
It was 11 digits long (only...not 15).. Of course, this raised a question in my mind. I did not use it. Especially when I asked her about how to enter the code and she just said you enter it and the phone will be unlocked.
An hour later I called again, got another person (thank God) and explained that I did not think that the code I got was right. They told me they don't have a record of anyone giving me a code. Finally, they told me the instructions to enter it...which matched the instructions I had seen here on a previous post.... I raised the issue about 11 and 15 digits and the guy told me (after asking around) that they vary from 7?? to 15..
One guess what happened...It did not work!!!
BUMMER. Lost one of five tries....
Called back immediately, explained the whole thing again and the rep apologized and said that he would take all information again and I would have to wait 5 to 10 business days.
OK ..... that was last week.
Well today I got my email with the instructions and the unlock code. Simply wonderful.
IT WORKED>... YAY!!!
KEEP REQUESTING THEM FROM CINGULAR. EVENTUALLY THEY GET IT AND SEND IT TO YOU....
