You tell them! Your comments are meant to be funny and you really are super funny. I know I can't wait for your insiteful comments! I like how you use the 🤣 smileys to show your just being the funny guy!

On a topic related note, the point of sale service agents never really have a consistent message because they are outside of the loop. They just don't have any idea when the phone is coming into stock.

well a lot of folks are sore at me cuz I wont put up with a phone that has issues, I know it CAN be a great phone and I am going to buy another one soon and am hoping it does not have the same problems, I am having to pay more to get it at a store but it will be worth it if the phone works PROPERLY...

I have the nokia 6682 through Cingular wireless, and I have not experienced any voicemail, voice dialing, or power cycling issues that have been reported by other users. One down side to the phone is that the software pre-loaded on the phone is all trials or contain usage fees. Don't hold your breath for the phone to come back, just get the audiovox 5600 now on sale at the cingular website for an unbelievable price of just $100 in most markets. You will not be dissapointed like with other phones that you pay alot for that don't even run a secondary operating system.

I've heard December as well...altho I still have two in my store. I think we are going to atempt to get some 32k sim cards, even tho the one that I have sold isn't having problems. I haven't had any problems with mine at all and have had it for almost four months now, but I do have an old 32k sim card that someone will have to pry out of my dead cold hands.

More discussion on availability of the 6682 is at

http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board?board.id=nokia »

Recently, it appears that if you order from Cingular, even though they say "don't know" on when it will be available, it has been taking a week to 10 days.

Personally I would prefer to purchase mine directly from Cingular but I just can't wait til Dec. I need to migrate now because my phone has a broken antenna. If anyone knows a store that has one available please let me know; I'm in Atlanta.

Good luck on that one.
You see, stores are very limited to their quantities of phones they carry, especially high end models, by actual inventory space and overhead charges. Calling cingular *Customer Care* from month to month would be the best way to check if the phone is available yet, because they ship from a large wherehouse and are usually the first to get the items in stock. Instead of checking in with franchise kiosks who just re-sll cingulars equipment. Don't trust online ordering as well, just because the website says you can order the phone is no guarentee that you will actually recieve it. If I had a dollar for every person who ordered the z500 after its end of life online, I would not have to sell phones for the rest of my l...

Anyone who still want to buy Nokia 6682, you can buy from letstalk.com. I just bought Nokia 6682 from Letstalk.com today. You have to order by phone, because it isn't listing in letstalk.com website now. I hope this is helpful.

Dear Carit,
With Cingular contract, you have to pay $199,99 (after $50 instant discount w/$39+ plans on 2 yr. agreement; this offer ends October 27th, 2005). If you just want to buy the cell phone without contract, you have to pay $359.99. All of them have free 2 day shipping with UPS or Fedex. For my cell phone, because I ordered it yesterday, it will arrive tomorrow (I know this from Fedex tracking). I hope this is helpful.

What I have read from the distribution center, is that it is targeted to be available again the first week of December.

Yes, that is a target and it can change, as Johhny Revolting said in Broken Arrow, "this is a very fluid situation" and so are device deliveries in case no one has noticed. It's just not the same as an XBox or new Kelloggs cereal, alot more has to go right, and as you all know in electronics, at first they don't always. Aren't we used to this as early adopters?

I think the 6682's that are getting out, are the ones that were already shipped. We were not instructed to return unsold inventory as we have been on other devices(mpx220, samsung d207) that needed a re-flash.

Not really.

If you are a new customer, you will most likley get a 64k sim. If the call logs and copy sim issues are bearable, you would be able to recieve a replacement when they become available.

If you have it less than 30days a swap can be done at the place of purchase, after that our XBM(exchange-by-mail) dept. Free UPS ground to you, 3-5 days, overnite $7.50 if you choose. Pre-paid return label provided for returned device.

Since you do not need a sim to use the phone, you can use the phone transfer utility(or back-up and restore) to get info from one phone to the other.

in this month's CARGO magazine (US) there is a nice 2 page color spread ad for the Nokia 6682.

they have GOT to be keeping this thing on the market. My guess is that they're working on some firmware/software issues (probably the software cingular loads onto the phone) and it will be re-released soon.

I heard in December! I want this phone now and ALMOST bought it in October but held off after many of you reported some issues. Now I just hope they bring it back!!

Wow..you got it a hundred dollars cheaper than i did by going through Nokia! Did you get contract with cingular? Well, i just got my phone 3 weeks ago from Cingular and I can still return the phone. Do you think they'll give me money back because the phone got cheaper or the only way to get it back is to return the phone and sign up for a new service again? A hundred bucks is a lot of money!

how did you manage that? i have at+t still, and i want to keep my number, but i need to port to cingular, and still get the savings. did they give you a new # and account and then did you just call cingular and merge the 2 accounts and keep 1 number?

really want to do this so let me know how you did and how much of a pain it was or not.

cheers!!

Go to the nokiausa website and select the 6682 option, a number will display that has the logo for letstalk.com Call the number and place your order, 199.00 no rebates no shipping fee, tell them you are an at&t customer and you want to migrate over to the Cingular side (free), and that you want to keep your number. Pay for the phone and 3-4 days later you will be a satisfied Nokia 6682 owner like I am.

I basically called cingular and they said that since it was At&T I could keep my number-when I called Letstalk to get my phone they said it was a migration so I couldn't. I wasn't going to pay more to them so I just waited until it came and went in to cingular and they switched it over. It wasn't too much of a pain-it did take about 45 min to do both phones-but at least at the store they're able to bypass
alot of the crap we wouldn't be able to. Just make sure Cingular says its ok. I called them before I ordered it b/c I was like these people only set up the accounts with cingular-they're not cingular.

To keep his existing number, he "probably":

1. got the phone from letstalk.com with another cingular #

2. after activating the phone, he requested Cingular to "Port" his number from AT&T and replace the number that was on the phone from letstalk.com

Just a guess, but that's the way I've seen things like this done.....

The number to cingular's porting department is 1-888-898-7685. However if you are an existing AT&T you need to migrate your number and not port it, so it is a different. I would suggest calling them before anything to make sure you are able to migrate or port your number over. Especially if your number is on business cards or signifacant in some other way. Cingular migrations number is 1-877-901-9521 Option 2. Hope this resloves your phone issues and allows you to get this great phone and keep your number. More then most sub-contracts that give a larger discount on the phone do not allow you to PORT your number under any circumstance. Also a number I would recomend for Mrdeath would be 1800 868 KUTO to help with your obvious depression...

For those of you who are porting numbers, a word of caution......DO NOT stop the service you are porting the number FROM, until the number has been successfully ported, it will cost you dearly to get the number, or you could lose it all together.......
