Cingular sucks

Cingular must be actively trying to lose customers as it constantly delays the arrival of promised new products (Nokia 6230i, 6682, etc.), services (push to talk), and technology (UMTS). Why can't I ever get a straight answer from them as to when anything will become available? Will they ever stop treating their best potential customers as children? I encourage your responses, especially those of you working for Cingular. Thanks. -blueboy

maybe because half you people are children. Clearly any company would want to lose customers, especally in the way that you have described. Why cant you get a straight answer? Have you been asking the right people the right questions? Most reps are the last people to know when a new phone is comming out. 6682 as I have said before will come out sometime in august...late to middle of the month. Take it easy blueballs...

Insults aside, why should reps be "the last people to know when a new phone is coming out?" Also, please note that others claiming to work for Cingular have posted arrival dates quite different than yours. Further, as a Cingular customer, I've tried to ask "the right people" "the right questions" and have gotten nothing but the run around. (My local store manager admittedly answers such questions by referencing Phone Scoop!)

the answer is simple my blue buddy,
phone companies choose to be vague about when they release their new items cause they dont want you to wait for them. They want you to get impatient and buy the next best thing. This way, they clear their old stock off the shelves AND make money from you SOOner rather than later.

I agree with you, the phone companies are nothing more than a bunch of capitalist nazis who love selling you a phone that they want to sell you, not the one you really want sometimes.

To let you all know why the phone hasnt been released, is becuase NOKIA has been on a NATIONAL BACKORDER with they're high end phones such as the 6230 and 6620. This seems to be the case with the 6682. Its not Cingular who has problems, its the manufacturers... you all can keep being impatient and buy your LG phones that are pushed and rushed, and then you will understand why NOKIAS are such reliable phones, becuase they are a patient company and will not release something till they know it will be successful without problems.

mikeh1120,

AMEN BRUDAH!!!!!!! GIVE ME A NOKIA or an SE ANYDAY!!!!! I've seen my share of problems with Motorola V551's V220's, LG 1300, 1400 etc...etc.....etc....you couldn't GIVE me one of those pieces of SH##!!!!!!! The RAZR.....what a F'ing JOKE... But then again, you have morons around that are "impatient" or just won't pay for the GOOD STUFF, so they end up with Suckie ASS phones and blame the carrier........when they should be blaming the people who MAKE THEM..................the manufacturer!!!!!!!!!!

Enough Said.....

I attended a training session for the 6682 about three weeks ago. I have one. The nokia rep told us that cingular would hopefully (this is the reason no one ever has a 'solid' date) be approved tomorrow. The phone would then arive in the warehouse on or around aug 15th, and you should start to see them in stores by the end of august. Cool?

The reason that no one can give you a definitive date is because no one knows. Nokia has released the phone however Cingular does it's own independent tests on all of the phones it releases, if Cingular finds a performance issue with the phone it will send it back to the manufacturer (i.e. Nokia) for them to fix. This is one of the reasons no one can tell you when the phone is coming out. Another reason, beyond that, is that they do not want their associates selling something they do not have. Same thing goes for phone and plan pricing changes. Associates, normally, do not hear about price changes until a few days before (if we are lucky) more often than not we do not find out about changes until the day they take effect.

Took many months for the 815 to be released only to end up being the biggest piece of junk produced.

I am now a Cingular customer, but you are right their phone selection is sparse right now.

Seems like the cell companies know something we don't in regards to manufacturing/releases.

with one exception, LG 1300 - littlest piece of...

otherwise, cingular tries hard: Razr, BB7100g, S710a, 6230, 6620 to name a few. and more on the way.

and cingular does test every phone the release more than any other carrier. hundreds of hours for a regular phone, and i can imagine they may want to run a few extra tests on a series 60 phone and all the extra funtions ( like PTT???)

PTT is being released from Cingular on Oct 13. Or at least says the internal email to cingular employees.
