Anyone use this phone unlocked with T-Mobile
I was just wondering if anyone has this phone unlocked with T-Mobile Service? My friend just bought this phone off of ebay unlocked and was told she can use it with T-Mobile service. I am not familiar with unlocked phones, so I was just wondering how well it works? Any help would be appreciated..Thanks.

Be careful not to buy an unlocked non-US phone. The warranties are not accepted by Motorola in the US.
I have also been told (by Motorola) that the non-US GSM phones are "tuned" for the bands from the country in which they originate. Motorola in the US will not re-tune for the frequency preferences here due to the FCC. My reception quality at home for my unlocked European L7 compared to an unlocked US phone (V551) was awful - this was consistent and repeatable for 6 months, e.g. my L7 never worked in the kitchen, but my V551 did. Then magically one day in January, the L7 started showing 4-5 bars, and has been working great ever since.

So is it bad if the phone is not a US phone? It doesn't state in the auction I won if it is US or foreign. It does state that it works on GSM 850 / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900, so that should be a US phone right?

I wouldn't worry about it dude. There are probably some different components on the phone if it is non-US, but you won't notice much difference in functionality. The warranty is the worst part - my camera went bad and Motorola wouldn't touch it.

I just don't want to have a headache with the phone and I also want it to have good reception. The last thing I need is to have problems with the phone.
