Any past users of the V551?
I'm considering upgrading to the L7 from the V551. Overall, the 551 is a very very solid phone, so I hate to have to replace it. However, I've having unbearable trouble charging this phone, so it's time for a new one.
I'm anticipating a phone that is the same as my v551, except with a different form factor and of course a music player. Is the volume output on the L7 similar to the V551?

The V3i is coming out in just a matter of days.. that one will have iTunes and 1.3M camera.
Yes, the earpiece is not as loud as that on the v551 (not THAT much lower, but it could be louder)

I upgraded from the V551 to the L7 about 3 months ago after my V551 earpiece volume went out. I would have to say that the L7 is the best upgrade iv'e made in a long time. It's very funtional and it ALWAYS turns heads. 🙂

Going from a flip phone to a bar phone was a HUGE pain in the rear for me. I wish I would have just waited for the V3i...
Since my SLVR broke (I got my new one today) I am going to be e-baying the replacement and picking up a V3i.
Funny how everyone with the v551 had the volume go out on the earpiece...
I wonder if the phone self destructs after so many hours?
That would be a terrible thing to uncover.

I too was forced to get a new phone (SLVR L7) after my V551 volume died on my earpiece.
In the process I changed from a bonus-filled AT&T plan to T-Mobile. My new phone still shows Cingular as the registered tower, but the reception is much worse, sometimes going to Emergency Only mode and then to No Service.
I am pretty upset. I live in "mid-town" San Francisco.
