keyboard lights turn off

I love this phone but when I am in daylight the keypad occassionally wont light up. If i go in my room and turn off the light then keypad turns on, and likeweise if I turn the light on the keypad goes out. this seems cool but i dont really like it does anyone know how to fix this problem?? or is it just my phone? thanks for the help

It is the phone setup. The keypad has a sensor that looks for light. So in dark places it turns on automatically and in light it doesn't. You can't change the settings, it is automatic.
