Sailor Moon, Was your phone still under warranty, were you paying the monthly insurance to Sprint, or do they just provide replacements if you ask nicely?

I wasn't paying insurance on my old phone and was out of luck when it quit, but my co-worker had an experience similar to yours and he did not have their insurance.

I'm wondering because I didn't bother to pay insurance on my new phone either, but have recently had a few close calls in dropping it.
