Hey everyone, I could use a little help here. I live in New York City and have been trying to get this phone for over a month now. It's never in stock on Sprint's website, I have been to at least 4 Sprint stores in the city, all of which claim they've *never* carried the phone (at 3 of the stores they claimed it hadn't been released yet). The only place I have been able to see even a demo is at one Best Buy in the city (out of the 3 I went to), where the phone is always out of stock. They make no claims as to when/if they will get more. Occasionally used ones will pop up on ebay and go for a ton of money (I'm eligible for a Sprint upgrade, so I want to get my rebate).
What happened? Is it like this everywhere? This process has been...

I was lucky enough to get the last on at one of the Best Buy's here in Las Vegas. Have you tried their website? It's a great phone, I just need to learn all of its features. Best of luck on finding one!

Have you tried to contact Sprints telesales. When you call they will honor the rebate you get as well as send it 1 day air. I ordered mine a few days before it hit the website...so they may have some, even if the website says its out of stock. Sucks to hear your having to put that much effort into getting the phone, but when you get it ..I think you will find it worth it . =)

thanks for the info guys. i called sprint's phone sales line and they should be getting more 7/11 (monday). i'm not holding my breath...

I was informed that this phone is "exclusive" to certain 3rd party vendors, ie; Best Buy, ect. That is probably why you only seen it at Best Buy.

i heard the same thing when i was at best buy, but that it was only supposed to be for the first month (which would have elapsed). the phone is no longer on the sprint website, so i don't know what to think now (maybe it got replaced/recalled?); i'm going to call them this afternoon to see if that alleged shipment came in.

Good Luck! I'm kinda bummed out-kinda wanted to use my $150 upgrade rebate on this.

My last update:
Sprint was (predictably) full of it on the phone Saturday; now they claim they will be getting more in "early August". I then tried to go through Wirefly to get it, and ran into something perhaps even more annoying than Sprint's idiocy: since I currently have a Sprint number (even though I am not under contract), I can't buy a phone from them and keep my number, because it would be a "renewal" and not a new activation. If i were switching from another carrier, apparently I could do it with no problem, because that counts as a new activation.
Well, good job and good riddance to Sprint and Wirefly; I'm switching to a new carrier. Sprint gave me good service for 6 years, but their customer support is totally worthless,...

I'm dreaming...a cingular phone and using it on verizon's network, wouldn't that be a sweet.

If anyone is from central FL. The Sprint store in Clearmont recieved 3 and I traded my LG 535 for one. You might give them a call and see if they can do a store to store phone transfer if you don't live near there.

Wirefly (Phonescoop's sponsor) now has this phone in stock for my area, adding further confusion. I'll try Sprint today so I can attempt to get my rebate, but it's good to know that it's an option.
