Samsung SPH-A800 / MM-A800
Use .aac/mp4s as ringtones using SD card?? .. Trick the phone? HELP
I've converted my mp3s to .aac/.mp4s (i've tried both) and can't get to use them as my ringers after putting them on the SD card. Is there any way to trick the phone, like by creating a new folder on the card or something, to get these to work. I've tried a decent amount of stuff, so hopefully someone can help me out.
- on a side note, I'm not able to upload any files to the phone because after an additional $50 charge to my families bill for downloading last month, my mom disabled the internet.

The phone is setup only to read ringtones from downloads not the card. I have never seen a way for it to even look in the transflash card it must be downloaded.

It would be cheaper to use 3gupload.com and pay for their services and upload your own short mp3 clips and pay for the internet.
BUT, since you have it disabled, you are kinda out of luck.
If I were you, I'd save my pennies and pay your mom back for the extra charge, get her to turn the internet back on, subscribe to a service like 3gupload (or 3gforfree has free ringers) or the like and download them to the phone.
I still have yet to receive my a800 from samsung (won in a training contest) so I haven't had too much time to play with it yet, but If I find a way to do it, I will post asap.
