Q about mp3?
just wanted to know if you can listen to mp3s without a headset casie i know it doesnt have a speakerphone. and if you can does it sound loud??

i just got it yesterday and its freakin sweet!! The mp3s sound pretty good through the speaker. I did inventory this morning and had it sitting on the desk playing and it worked just fine. Granted i'm in a pretty quiet room, i took it outside and could barely hear it. Sound really good with head phones!

If you compare it's MP3 abilities to to Sanyo's MM-5600, It's not even in the same league. Even the Sprint store guys thought the speaker wasn't close. You can hear the speaker on the MM-5600 over a lawn mower. That doesn't mean it's not sweet. I thought it sounded great through the headphones.
What I'd like to see in one of these phones is equalization...
I don't remember seeing it... does the Samsung have skins to choose from during playback.
I thought that was a waste of valuable software on the Sanyo phone.

the 800 does have 3 animated backgrounds when playing an mp3. Theyre nothing too fancy but still pretty cool. And the 5600s speaker is better, but im more than happy with my 800's performance. Something that i think is really cool, is all the menu customization. You'd have to play around with it to get the full effect, i dont feel like describing all of it, but something i havent seen on hardly any sprint phones.
