High Price Low Features

I recently saw this phone at Cingular's web site. They want $149.99 with a 2 year contract! That is too high a price for a phone with such a small amount of features. You can get a V551 for the same price.

Yes, but this phone will appeal to people who don't care about cameras & BT. Some people will want the "coolness" of the keyboard, but won't want to pay $200-$250. In February, there will be a $50 mail in rebate making it $99.99 after rebate. I don't want one personally, but it will sell. Especially amongst 14-16 yr olds who watch American Idol religiously & see all the ads for it & convince mommy & daddy to buy it for them.

I hate to say it, but he's right. Crappy as this phone is, it's an LG, and like it or not, LG's sell like crazy. The C1300 sells out of my store like wildfire, the L1400's a big favorite in this area too.

I accidentally slipped the dummy for the F9100 into my pocket while talkin to a customer the other day and took it outta the store with me. Later on that night I found myself fidgeting with it in my hand while I was at the mall (gf was tryin on some clothes, leavin me waitin outside the changin room). I can't tell ya how many people wanted to know what kinda phone it was, where they could get it, and when it would be out.

Somehow, I'm not surprised. Even if I never own one, I'll gladly sell it & reap the commission! 🙂

I had my say & I'm done. I have nothing more to say. To continue would be (figuratively speaking) beating a dead horse. 🙂

I've moved on. 😎

I'm sorry that you're so frustrated about me neglecting to taunt you.

It's $150 at register, $50 MIR; a phone with qwerty keypad and four messaging clients for $100 after rebate. That's going to be attractive to a lot of people, and as a feature horse (I can't imagine someone buying this without at least the $9.99/750 text messages pak) it's going to be attractive to sales reps as well.

It's bulky and the sliding mechanism feels a bit cheap - it unclicks too easily - but I imagine it's going to open up the Sidekick market to Cingular in a big way. Me ...
