It's official, the launch party is in November. I bet you want to know what carrier is going to have it don't you? T-Mobile. 😳 😉

Don't know the exact date yet(other than Nov.), but it's finally going to show up on US shores.

Well, I'll believe it when I see it in Nov. If not, I will say, oh well I have one already. 😁

Well, considering that it came from my t-mobile indirect rep, telling me that the entire market is invited to the V635 launch party, I trust it. I can't wait! Hopefully no flashing needed!!!

If it does come out, does that mean your going to get the phone? 😎 If you do, be sure to tell us what software version the phone comes with. And if, you expereience any problems like the import counter verison. 🙄

If you don't have any problems with the phone than this phone might really be the best of the motorola V series! 😁

Well, I got mine for just under $250 including shipping. I can't really see it being much cheaper than that even through a carrier with the feature set it has. Anyone know the price?

When you bought the V635 from the third party vendor, what did you do to get it totally up to speed for use?

How much will T-Mobile do for you if something goes wrong with your V635? I have heard conflicting opinions on getting from a carrier or getting from a 3rd party, and I am not a techie, unfortunately.

I use Cingular. The only thing that I had to do was get the settings for Cingular's mobile web. I just googled around and found it with little problem. Other than that, there was nothing to it.

And I'm no techie either. I was considering Verizon, but I was afraid to hack the Moto E815 to get it to do all of the stuff that it's supposed to do. 🙂

I am wondering now if I could go to my neighborhood cell phone store and ask the sales rep to do whatever "hacking" is required to get my phone up to Cingular/T-Mobile speed -- meaning get my phone to do what phones sold by the carriers can do. He would write me up a contract with whichever GSM carrier I choose, and the phone wou...

Your first question depends on, if your local cell phone person knows how to hack and if they know how to hack the v635. Further more, if he/she will be nice enough to do it for you.

Your second question depends on the which carrier's coustomer service person you are talking to and if they are feeling helpful that day. If they want to help, they'll help. If not, tough lucky. The v635 is a import phone, so it has nothing to do with a american carrier. Maybe some of the people that you read about just got lucky that day. 😁

Customer Service personnel should give customer service irrespective of how they are *feeling* on any given day. If everyone refused to assist or help because they were not feeling helpful that day, people would be coming home irritated or furious every day.
When personnel hires people for Customer Service, they should do so with a mind t...

Well, we can just solve this by seeing what happens. Go buy the phone from a store. Ask to see if they will hack it for you. Call up your service provider and see if they will help you with any problems you encounter.

When you finish, come back and write about your experiences you had. If whay you say about Customer Service is true, then you should have no worries. 🙂

Learn the definition of the word "should." You cannot posit scenarios which presume that what "should" be really "is," imply a consequence based on that presumption, scoff slyly, and then expect to be taken in good faith. What I said is a good dictum to emulate. The proof would be the next time you walk up to a window requesting service for something that you paid for. Since I will not read any more replies from you, you might save your energy and time and tend to others. -Lorna

This what I get for answering newbie question. Look, your the one that think customer service should help you. I didn't think that. Your the one that used the word "should" first. I just used it the same way as you did for an exmaple. So if you think I was using it wrong then you use it wrong in the first place. So don't come off by saying I'm telling this scenario will really happen. hahaha try to teach me something new - I don't think so. Why don't you reread your old post. I won't ever answer these newbie answer again. I will not read your post either too. You big meanie.

I talked to a t-mobile rep today and they have no plans to release the v635 and I doubt that cingular will either. As for indirect dealers you can already buy the v635 from them. I bought mine from Xport World they had it in stock and you can buy them from Wireless Nation also. I live in Washington DC

I have to agree with the rest of the crowd here. I will believe it when I see it. Here is part of my rationale. All of us V series lovers were waiting for months and then let down when each carrier indicated they would not carry the V635 due to poor testing results for the phone. Even if there were upgrades to the V635, it seems unlikely that T-Mobile would release two phones of similar capabilities at the same time (i.e. the V360). I'm not saying your wrong or that your indirect dealer is wrong, but maybe, just maybe there is a communication oops going on there. Maybe the indirect dealer is saying Motorola will no be releasing an unbranded V635 for the United States market and that he will be selling it at a discounted rate with T-Mob...

Well...it seems that the Tmo rep that I spoke to, was mistaking the V360 for the V635. Sorry to get everyones hopes up, much like my own. I was so hoping that someone would carry this phone state side. Sigh, maybe one day carriers will do what their customers want.

No worries. I had talked with one of the T-Mobile reps, and they couldn't get the number right in LA either. Sorry it turned out to be what we all thought. It would have been real cool. How funny is it that we can't get this phone that is made by a US company in the US, but they can get it in Canada? Oh well, I am getting used to US industy sucking.
