Motorola V635
Help with writing messages!
Hi. I used to own a V400 from Cingular. Now I have an unlocked V635. When I try to write a text message, it is near impossible because it automatically fills the word for me or won't let me access letters past the first one, even when it's not the word I want!
For example, on my V400, as I typed a word, it would give me suggestions but I would actually have to press the arrow button or something similar to fill it in with that word. If I want to type "hello", I just have to press the GHI key twice, then the DEF key twice, etc.
Now on my V635, if I try to type the word "hello", it doesn't even let me press the GHI key twice to get to the H. Instead, it just becomes Ii.
Can anyone help?

That is the iTAP technology. Basically, you type out the word you want using just one punch of the number instead of hitting the key once for each letter assigned to it. i.e. for "Hello", you would hit 4, 3, 5 - and by that time iTAP would realize what you are doing and give you some word choices.
You can change it back to the method you are used to in the SMS by hitting the menu key after you go into "New Message" -> "New short message" and going to "Entry Setup." You can change from iTAP to TAP English, which I believe is what you are referring to. Also, go to entry mode and make sure it is set to Primary if that's what you're changing in entry setup.
