I have both, and they each have their pros and cons. With the bluetooth dongle you cant flash firmware, but if that doesnt matter, then I'd get the bluetooth dongle just because it's so damn easy to use.

Alrighty, go into the phone and under connection change "memory card" to "data/fax connection".

Secondly, if you are using the bluetooth dongle, you totally dont need MPT if you have XP (SP2). Just install whatever drivers your bluetooth dongle comes with and go to "My computer" then "my bluetooth connections". Follow up by turning bluetooth on, then click "find bluetooth devices" right after you tell your phone to "make discoverable".

Now, it'll ask you to make a pin, so you can do 1234 or whatever you want into your pc. Your phone will say "bond with ???" and you say yes, then pop your pin in the phone. Now your phone and pc's are married! Yay!

Okay, now you can transfer **** back and forth. You can go to "OBEX file transfer" to g...

Mine came with my phone... so.. filesharing networks seem to have it.

This one has alot of sources if you use eMule: ed2k://|file|Motorola%20Mobile%20Phone%20Tool s%20V3.11h%20Multilang%20Includ%20Media%20Stu dio%20All%20Motorola%20ISO.nrg|730923164|0535 6967AA1F390765A50C3F5F531BD9|/

Otherwise, I think superdavex's site has it also, I know he has Motorola PST (For flashing with). http://www.inetron.com/ is superdavex's site, he is the V710 firmware hacker. Make a login, login, click "Mobile Section" on the left then "V710 Downloads" and on page 3 it has something thats like 50MB that says "MPT3_VStuff.rar" which may or may not be MPT. Also there's "PST711_and_patch.zip" which is PST which you use with the cable to flash the phones.

My instructions were on how to use Windows built in bluetooth capability to do pictures/videos/music(ringtones)/ and games.

Flashing is a different animal, you gotta get some firmware (charge your phone battery 100%) then flash with PST. It takes a little time.

Id stick to the bluetooth adaptor and windows built in capability, its so easy.

Lol.. the first post I made were instructions on using bluetooth and XP SP2 to download/upload things. If you want, www.howardforums.com is probably the place you want to go to ask questions regarding flashing/flexing.

If you have Mobile PhoneTools, you should be able to update for free. That's what I did. I installed the software, and it asks me to run "LiveUpdate". Ran LiveUPdate, and now, I'm using MPT V 3.25 (I THINK). It never asked me to purchase anything, unless anything after 3.25, Motorola is forcing you to buy it. 😎
