😢 Ok so my v635 I bought off of ebay was working fine for 3 days. Then all of a sudden last night its saying no service, the back ground dims in and out and the screen flashes to white for 10 seconds and then it repeats all this again and again and again and again. Anybody have any idea why this might be happening? Very upset need help. Anything would be nice. Thanks!

Could this be why Cingular decided not to release this phone????? anyone?

Go to HowardForums. There is a lot of people with a lot of knowledge about this phone and its problems. My suggestion, these phones come from other countries and are not set up for Cingular's network. You have to be very lucky to get one that works perfectly with it. It is not the reason why Cingular dropped it, or else Rogers in Canada, O2 in UK and TIM in Greece would not be carrying it. Cingular just sucks and they are childish like that. It had something to do with their 850 band, but thats just them. Like the WCDMA, they have to call it UMTS and use a different frequency than everyone else in the world. 😡

Its not Cingular that changes the frequency band for the US, its the FCC! They decide who and how much spectrum get put out in the world.

Cingular dropped it cause its too much like a V600, and it failed the 850MHz test, and some field tests that they use to see how the phone will work on their network, and any bugs that it might have.

I don't see how it could have failed an 850MHz test, most MOTO phones are quad-band anyway. In my opinion Cingular didn't want to release a mid-level phone that has as good if not better features than their pricier Moto Razr V3.

For God's sake I hope it comes soon just so you'll stop preaching that it failed everything. Your last name's not Cingular and I'm fairly confident you don't work for them in head office. Give it up. It's annoying seeing your same "it failed tests and is not coming" message appearing as ananswer to every question on every thread! Unless you can say something technically helpful with people's questions, don't post anything! Leave your commercial assumptious garbage off the forums!

NO! Thats what this forum is for, to give opinions, and facts. Face it, its not coming to CINGULAR, now get that in your head! Motorola already said its not coming out for the US. The phones that here already are IMPORTED from overseas. They are not meant for a US carrier. 😛

You can not make me leave whats not yours.

It makes sense. No phones have been made available for the US networks yet so there aren't any replacement phones available to send you. They would have to take the device and do everything to it to make it compatible themselves.

Why am I a loser? I can't help it if I am drawn to technology. Since, yall keep under-estimating me, we shall see, if it comes out for a US carrier. If it doesn't come out by the end of this year, yall owe me an apology, and if it does, come out, with a US carrier, I owe you guys and apology. Deal?

The V635 was not picked up by Cingular and is not and will not be available from a U.S. carrier. The phone has problems and is not supported in the U.S.

Please tell them that, cause they are not listening to what I am telling them. They are trying so hard to believe that its coming to the US for a carrier. Then they try to put me down, thinking that I am stupid or something. You know what, let them wait, they will be waiting forever. 🤣 🤣

WHO CARES???? It doesn't matter if it is coming to a US carrier. It is already here!!! US citizens are using this phone regardless if it is supported by a US carrier. I am one of them. I've had it for a few weeks now. It's a great phone. I did update the software and have done some seem edits to suit my needs. No problems, not one, at least not yet. I am a Cingular customer in SoCal, all my settings have been updated, my reception has never been better, everything works! That's all I want, is a phone that works, and this one does.

Hey Matt! What exactly did you change on it? How knowledgeable to you need to be to mess with those things? Which provider your phone was ORIGINALLY programmed for? I'm in Hollywood area, where in SoCal are you?

I bought the phone unlocked (UK Version - no provider programming). I did alot of research on howardforums.com and motomodders.net. There's alot of info on these sites for beginners like myself, including step-by-step guides. It was so easy! If you can operate a PC and move files around, you can definitely do it to your phone too. You'll have to invest $25 or so on cables and software, but it's well worth it, and they can be used on other Moto phones too. I live down in OC and like I said, this phone is awesome.

Cooool! I already got Moto USB cable and Mobile Phone Tools. Would I need to BUY any other software? Did you buy your phone here in the US or bring it from UK?

You will not need to buy anything else. All other software can be downloaded. I bought it from compuplus.com. There's no guarantee what country your phone will be from. I know other phones are coming from Germany and Spain as well. Doesn't matter where they come from because the language can be changed on the phone.

(not directed at you, thefinn25)

I think it's pretty childish to accuse someone of lying when they have called motorola over and over again to get information that they didn't even have to get. He was doing us all a favor by calling motorola and if you don't believe him, there's no need to attack him for trying to help. Just call motorola yourself.

I'd just like to clear one thing up. I'm not trying to attack terry. I have no problem with him saying it's not coming, it's just that I highly doubt that the moto rep he spoke with told him it failed all the cingular tests and also that information is not the answer to every problem. So terry: Kudos for the info, much appreciated. BUT now that we all have been informed it's not coming by you 10 times, theres no need to keep posting the same message. Thanks, I guess now the BIG "dispute" is over and done with. Cheers.

I posted over and over cause, people couldn't get in their head that, I wasn't lying, and Moto did confirm that it wasn't coming. Yall were coming here and bashing me. But, now that I posted an email from them, everybody has calm down!

I don't like it when people come out of nowhere and say "You are a lier". But, everything is over now. So, we are cool now.

And I don't like when people can't spell (and then don't even bother to use a spell-checker)... But I suppose that's a moot point anyway.
