I'm thinking about purchasing a v635 for Cingular service. some questions i have

Do you have to set anything up on the phone for pic/text/internet settings or can you just put your cingular sim card in and its plug and play?

is there any roaming on this phone since it is not a us based phone?

As far as I know it depends on the phone you have, either the Spanish, French, or German versions. Some people have to edit the software of the phone, others dont. Its a risk you have to take when purchasing a phone without a carrier, because the carrier gives Motorola all the settings to work with their network. I am still debating whether to get it. If it goes down more in price in Ebay, I might just get one and risk it, but it has to go dowwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnn in price for me to fiddle with it. So if I break I wont be like, "#$@%$@^%$^%$!@#^%$@#$!^" 🤣

You shouldn't be charged roaming. It's the sim card that houses your plan info and as long as the phone can find a tower in your home calling area, you're set!
