no GSM?

why cant this phone be on the GSM network. i have been looking for a good PDA for the GSM network

If you are looking for a strictly GSM version, there will be one. As I recall it is called the i750. Hope this helps....

true the i750 is going to be the gsm verzion but it will not have a qwerty key board and no wifi from what I have read elsewhere

According to that link I provided at phonearena, the i830 will have:

"Samsung SCH-i830 is a dual-band CDMA plus dual-band GSM PDA phone. It features color touchscreen display, Bluetooth, QWERTY sliding keyboard, Microsoft Mobile for Pocket PC Phone Edition 2003, SD memory expansion slot and built-in Speakerphone."

It is true that the i830 will have GSM but this is for CDMA users who want international roaming just like the A790, therfore, it won't be compatible with the US carriers.....


According to that link I provided at phonearena, the i830 will have:

just look under the specs and you will find Under highspeed data it states 1xEVDO. SO it will work on both the standard 1x and EVDO networks

Yeah and the worst part is it won't use an SD card; it is going to have a transflash, which are only 256 mb's so far. Sucks for the GSM people...
