The original stories on this predicted a 1.3 MP camera. Sad to not see that as one of the features, if that is really the case.

Any word as to a camera version of this coming out?

Carrier selected feature... the version with a camera is available for them if they choose to sell it.

Like most new PDA-phones these days, the camera is a feature that is optional for the carriers. Due to corporate security concerns, many business customers require camera-free models.

Like the Treo 600 and Audiovox XV-6600, it's certainly possible that Verizon will choose to also offer a version with a camera at some point. But the non-camera version is definite, and will be first. That's Verizon's priority because it's what their most important customers are asking for.

That sounds like a likely outcome. This would be a real all around winner with photo & video capabilities.

I'm guessing given VZW's emphasis on charging for data they wouldnt want to miss out on the (high) separate fees a buyer of $500+ phone would rack up picture messaging!
