Been lurking at pdaphonehome.com, reading all the links, and clearly there are some very annoying things about this "phone" that will make it maddening for folks like me that want the convenience of actually using a device as a phone. Like the fact that you need the stylus to put the phone into vibrate mode...sorry folks, that's ridiculous. There are several other no-brainer items like that.....but hey, if you're looking for a PDA first, then I guess those don't matter. Someone like me though, I want a PHONE that's easy to use as well, and this just doesn't cut it.

Guys, it is not Samsung's first release, the i700 was. And this seems like a very good improvement, a pocketable size, keyboard, ev-do. As far as the fact that you need to break out the stylus to set it to vibrate (if that is true), that does kinda suck. Treo 650 is really great about it, so maybe you should get that, as it seems to work great as a phone/pda combo. I had one, but just bought a Samsung just cause it has more feature, more usable browser and so no.
I would have jumped at the TREO, but I found the chicklet sized keys are too small for my hands.
The i640 (does anyone have any info on this?) looks to be a great phone - smaller than the i600 (I think), more features, and a rea...

What's to clarify? A good phone/PDA combo is what many of us want, and the i730 isn't the answer. Help me understand what you don't understand about that.
I think you need to heed your own advice about accepting other people's opinions. If it's great for you because you want a PDA above anything else, have at it. I didn't say it was a bad phone.
At least you got one thing right - there aren't any good PHONE/PDA's out there.

oh, and being the 21st century, how is it that this PDA that acts slightly like a telephonic device has NO camera/video/V-Cast etc? How cool would that razr PDA thats on front page of phonescoop be if it were CDMA and here?
braveyoyo, i deinfitley agree, and i love how that razr pda looks! Makes me wish they truly did come out with one in cdma. Only time would tell. Too bad no wifi, but hey, can't complain.

Very cool looking phone indeed. Highly doubt you'll ever see it with Verizon.
WM3-2ed IS primarily designed as a PDA first, a phone second. The new WM5 supposedly corrects that. It makes the phone one-hand-able, instead of having to use the stylus to make most of your calls. Office applications are also enhanced, as well as data protection if your battery dies. The OS also runs more efficiently, so you get significant improvement in battery life, which has been a major complaint with PPC.
The i730 can be upgraded to WM5 (unlike the XV6600). Microsoft announced it IS available about a month ago. The question is if and when VZN will make it available to it's i730 customers.
You also said someone complained that the Vib can only be switched on with th...
