Could you, or someone else explain to me the correlation between EVDO and VCast? Are they one in the same? Is EVDO an industry standard and VCast is VZW's implementation of it? Are they totally unrelated?

John, EV-DO is the name for the technology, which allows this high speed connection to compatible phones and in certain cities. Sprint is working on releasing it too. VCast is Verizons package which provides you with news, videos and so on. It's delivered through fast connection - EV-DO.

Ok that makes sense. So Vcast needs EVDO...but a phone with EVDO doesn't necessarily have to have VCast on it.
I was wondering..people were saying the i730 had EVDO...but I didn't see 'VCast' listed in the features. I initially thought they were one in the same.
