How Much!?

RINGO

So there are quite a few people who actually have the phone in their hot little hands (lucky bastards)!? How much did everyone pay, and where did you get the phone (VZW store, in-direct dealer, etc)? I've heard everything from $449 to $499, to $700?

Man, went through a bit o' drama in ordering my Samsung i730. But, the end result is that I was able to order!! It was odd, I thought since I work for a big Fortune 500 company, I was considered B2B. I even log onto the B2B site for Verizon through my company. But, after the insane number of calls to various Verizon numbers the past couple weeks, it looked like I was just a "personal line with a corporate discount". Meaning, I was told I had to wait till July 7th.

But, I still tried, checked in the morning (9AM sharp), no dice. Called, got the same message, "Sorry, you aren't B2B". Got bummed, logged again just for the hell of it and BAM, it was there. Went through the process as quick as I could. Ordered, processed, etc.

I work for Merrill Lynch and technically I'm not a B2B client, just a personal line with corporate discount, but I spoke with a B2B rep and she got everything ordered for me. The phone cost me $439 and then I saved $100 with my NE2 discount.

How are you getting these "corporate discounts" when not being a B2B client? I'm not sure I understand this concept. Is there a discount number or special handshake you need to give to get these huge discounts? I ended up having to pay full price for my VX6600, even though I really only use my cell phones for work. Clearly I'm not paying $45/mo to surf to ESPN on my phone. I doubt my company has a specific deal with Verizon though ☹️

i just bought one for $499 -- discounts for; 2 year commitment, $44/month unlimited data.

i'm a new customer -- if i'd been a customer for 2 years i could have qualified for the NE2 (new every 2 years) discount plan. that would have taken it down to $399.

the first rep i talked to quoted some huge number (like $650 with a 2 year committment). i just hung up on her and called in again.
