I saw a few posts confirming blackberry feature on this phone. Where do people get this info? Other then this site, nobody states this. Nothing on verizon info pages mentions this. These manuals and other pdfs that recently surfaced do not mention this. I know there was talks of RIM letting other manufacturers use their software, but that didn't happen yet, did it?

I found this link from another BB a while back. It doesn't specifically give this model, just says Samsung.

Hey, so there is hope. It would be a really all-in-one device if it had blackberry.
Thanks for the info.

The "blackberry feature" is a form of "push" technology, which I believe this phone will definitely have, as Verizon made it available a couple of months ago for the Treo (I believe its part of the PDA/Smartphone plan for capable phones)

Basically "push" technology doesn't require to request information from a server, instead when the server receives specific information (in this case email) it 'pushes' it to your phone. The technology has been around for a while, but blackberry was the first to incorporate it into a phone.

VZW created software called Wireless Sync to "push" e-mail, however it is limited to mainly POP accounts and supports only one account. Where as the BB is faster, more reliable, can have 10 accounts and is almost limitless in terms of types of e-mail accounts. I would prefer the i730 with BB connect.

No doubt the tool has the capabilities, the real question is will VZW implement with BB service? They implement with their version of mail service.
