Ok I am wondering about this. I currently have a motorola V710. On the get it now there is a program so you can use aim, msn, and yahoo messenger. This works by counting one text message for a send and one for a receive. If I get this phone I will be getting the unlimited PDA/Smartphone internet plan along with my current voice plan. What I am wondering is if I do this will I be able to use the aim pda program with the unlimited data so I dont have to have my huge text message plan (2500 a month)I got to admit if i can use the data plan with that app I am completely even more sold than I already am now.

No you cannot use your data plan and also incorporate get it now usage with the phone itself and use apps such as aim. data plans bill out kilobyte usage as in emails or opening emails with files, etc. if you send a txt message it will be counted off txt plans if you have it or just billed regular. data and txt are different feats that you can have or not have. sorrym two separate features here.

Or, since this phone is a windows pocket pc, you get an IM client, use the EVDO or (please) Wi-Fi and you can still us your IM's w/out paying for each txt msg... because you're using the clients themselves as opposed to using VZW's port...
