Removing Items From Title Bar

Since I installed 2007 daylight saving time update I have have the "no active sync/data session" icon in the title bar. I would rather not have this present because it forces the 1xEv icon into the notification bubble. Is there a way to remove the "non active data session" icon from the title bar so that I can have the notification bubble free for actual notifications?
