It's up on the t-mobile u.k. site. can i buy it from them and use it with my t-mobile account here in the states? would my SIM card work in it?

I e-mailed t-mobile when I saw it on their UK site here is their response:
At the moment, this handset is only available through us on a contract. To obtain a contract with T-Mobile UK, you'd need to have a permanent UK address and also pass a credit check. The alternative is to buy this phone 'offline'. Offline means that the phone is not locked to a specific network, and you'll be able to use your T-Mobile USA SIM card with it. These phones are also often referred to as 'SIM free'. In the UK, there is a company called Phones 4U, who sell phones like this. They can be found at www.phones4u.co.uk.
