volume problem

my cellphone

Jul 19, 2005, 3:08 PM
Hi! Did anyone figure out how to fix the volume problem? I changed the auto volume to "off" and Privacy to Standard, but my volume is really bad. On one call it was so low I could hardly hear and the next blasted me out.
Thanks!

My phone just arrived this afternoon. Not a promising start. I read the post from the forum and I hoped it wouldn't be an issue for me.

Every once in awhile I'll have that same problem. Also when I dial out, the ring fades from low to loud for each ring until someone picks up. Anyone know what im talking about? 🙄

Yeah, I've had the same problem with the fading ringing sound.

Today I set TTY Mode to "TTY Full" and the phone seems a little better. (That's in addition to Voice Privacy "Standard" and Auto Volume "Off" which I set previously.)

Maybe I'm just trying anything so I don't have to return the phone!!

Anyway, I do feel a little better about the phone today!

Hope we can all figure it out soon!!

Thanks, I'm gonna try that to. But while we're on the subject, what is TTY and why would this help?

I believe it allows the phone to be used with TTY devices (telecommunication devices for the deaf).

Hopefully there is something built into the phone that might enhance the volume situation.

But, it's just something I'm trying. I'm not sure it will help ultimately.

Good luck!

Does anyone remember the 6100's volume glitch? Well VZW & LG had a firmware update about a mounth after it's launch to fix it. I'm sure if this problem is as widespread as it seems they will do the same. I;ve had the phone since Sat & have had no issues ::Knock on wood::

What's the difference b/t firmware and software?

Just terminology... Firmware refers to an O/S the drives a piece of hardware. Software operates on top of the firmware. I.E. Windows would be like firmware & AOL or Internet explorer would be software

I am not a techie...I wanted to be able to get a wireless headset, voice command dialing and a few other features that the 8100 had. The most important thing to me is to be able to make/receive calls and hear them. If the problem can't resolve and I now by the contract committed to another year with Verizon by activating the 8100..is the E815 a reliable phone?

I am not willing to take a chance on a update in 30 days. I read PlayboyPengiun's post about the 15 day trial period and that he was able to get another phone after his trial period, but I don't want to take a chance.

I called tech support today and he urged me to take the phone back and let them look at it. He could not tell me if they could fix it or not.
