ok...
I've read some posts on the mp3 player, I've formated the card in the phone, I'm set the mp3 thing on so I guess I can do both mp3s and wmas. So I throw the card in and try to copy and paste a song on and it says the card is "write-protected" does anyone know how to get songs on here?!?! And I've tried putting stuff on with the lock thing both up and down so don't yell at me about that, If someone could explain in some detail about getting some kind of music on my phone I'd realllllly appretiate it

Ok well I bought a 1G MiniSD from NewEgg, the brand was RIDATA

I was interested in this one because it was so cheap. Once I got the miniSD card I put the mini card into my VX8100 and formated the card. After that I took the card out of the phone and inserted it into it's adapter then put it into my reader and looked what was on it from my computer. I saw it had MY_MP3 and MY_MUSIC and MY_VIDEO and something else. I then went into my computer and proceeded to drag and drop a bunch of MP3s into the MY_MP3 folder of the miniSD card. As far as doing both (MP3's and WMA's), you can only use MP3's if you have the MP3 player re-enabled and the titles must be less than 47 characters including the .mp3, or only WMA's if you have the VCAST MUSIC player enabled.

🙂 Ok here it is, I got my Sandisk MiniSD in and rite away I tried the adapter on my Ridata miniSD. Works great!!! The first thing I noticed as I tore open the package and checked out the Sandisk adapter was how well made it was compared to the Ridata one. The lock was tight and hard to slide into write protect mode. Unlike the Ridata one that just slid very easy. Thats about it, problem solved for me for the write protect issue. I hope this helps you.

All you really needed to do was put a small piece of tape under the adapter's locking tab so that it would not slide down into the locked position. My San Disk adapter did the same as your Ridata thats how I fixed the issue.
