Quick question about mini SD cards

Does the brand name of the card make a huge difference when it comes to the memory cards? Verizon kind of over charges the cards, the ones online are a lot cheaper. There is a 1GB sandisk for $46. But Kingston is a little cheaper.

Also how much would you estimate that the different amounts hold in terms of songs.
256MB. 512MB. and 1GB....thank you

Well, I use the usb cable and bitpim to put my customized ringtones on the phone. But I will be formatting the card in the phone first as it will create folders to put the MP3s in along with pics and stuff. The card should show up in the reader as a drive and then just find the folder that says MP3. This is all hypothetical on what I have heard from others that have done it. But I believe them. When I get my card next week I will reply with what I found.

I've got a dumb question.

You say that you have a 1GB card, but I notice on the front of these cards, it says "512 MB". I'm no techie, so please forgive me if this sounds like a dumb question.

My card has "512MB" on it, so am I getting 1GB?

Not sure....
Thanks
