Ok, why is it then when I go into Verizon and asked them to upgrade my phone, from v4 to v7 they say it won't fixed the problems of volume control and camera delay ?
All they say is that it will disable the MP3 and I will have to convert all my MPS files to there format on my 1gig card in my phone.
First of all I don't want to go through all that mess. I enjoy the files being MP3 format.
Now , I have read here there is a work around without having change the format of my mp3's on card and still fixing the other issues on this phone.
WHY DOESN'T VERIZON PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS WORKAROUND?
So at this point I have not upgraded cause I don't want to loose all the work I did getting my songs onto my card to start with , and now they are sa...

Here you go

1. enter service programming mode by hitting menu 0
2. enter service code 000000

3. scroll down to option 11. music settings.

4. enable mp3s

this will enable to use mp3 just like you before upgrade. however you will not be able to use the manage music function with mp3's

if you want the front button to be a shortcut key to play mp3s,

1. go to setting and tools

2 select shortct.
and select play key

There are some advantages of using wma format

You player will pause on an incoming call and restart after call ends.

and the music manager is great for organizing your music and making playlist

I know what you mean about having to re-do all your work putting songs on, but it's really not that difficult. Search through some of the past posts here and you will find all the answers you need. All should be within past 6 weeks or so.

Read the other answers to this thread too. The music player with .wma format allows you to search/play by artist, album, etc. Also as mentioned you can revert to same song after a call. It's worth the effort.

Also, most store techs don't really know all the details. They don't work for VZW, they are contracted from some other company. The volume problems are much better after V07 upgrade.

Okay, do I take this discussion to mean that some of us have V4 which requires wma format for music and others have v7 which requires mp3? I've had the phone a week and have used the wma and it works great.
Do I want v7?
Would I have to use mp3 with v7?
If I had v7 can I go back & forth between mp3 & wma files?
(I may get my hubby this phone but I might get him Audiovox cdm8940 - which are the other 2 I "own" - it requires mp3. I know the card location issues involved.)

I want to go get the v7 upgrade but is it worth it? Does it really make a difference with the earpiece volume and the delay on the camera? Can someone please help me with this situation?

Just got the upgrade and so far I can tell the difference in the camera delay and also I don't seem to have problems .. So far with volume flucuating, but again it's only been one day . I will update again if that changes for me.
