First off, I no longer have the 8100 nor do I have a Bluetooth headset, but I do notice that over the last 6 or 7 months I have read WAY more complaints than I have compliments about BT headsets. Some people LOVE them only to sing a new tune a week or mont later. The main reason I havent purchased one yet is that they just dont seem to work. Between this site, HoFo, and personal friends there is no way in hell I am going to waste money only to have to take a faulty product back. Just today I was speaking to someone with the e815 and all I heard was ECHO after ECHO. I guess the question I pose is why dont they just make one that costs 300 that WILL work. I would rather spend that amount of money knowing that I have a product that DEFINITELY w...

I'm with you. You can take Jabra, Motorola and Plantronics and shove them. LG states, Moto's are incompatible. After going thru all of the above, I found two that work great. Both crystal clear, no static or echo, for most. I get an OCCASIONAL echo with 1 person in NY, but I also get the same on the phone itself. Using Bluetrek G2 now for about a month. Excellent. Also tried the nXZEN for about a week. Sound is even better (digital) but only lasted about 1 1/2 days per charge. The BT seems to work a lot better on the GSM network. Spoken to several people using Nokia phones and BT headsets. All say as clear as a 'land-line phone'. Too many people on CDMA.

Hi thanks for the review. Do you know what stores I could get the 2 headsets that you just talked about? Or do I have 2 get them on line? Are you going to try LG"S BT headset? I think I might maybe since it is from them it will work better with the 8100 ? Thanks for the help

My Bluetrek G2 I bought at a local store in Westfield, NJ. I've seen it on the internet - search. The nXZEN is sold at Comp USA.

I use a Jabra BT500 on my LG8100. No problems at all. You don't hear me complimenting it online because it works fine. People always complain when something doesn't work. You almost never hear from people who gave no issues.
Working better on GSM? That has nothing to do with it. Perhaps Nokia does a better job of implementing BT and most of their phones are GSM, so they have good luck but having CDMA won't make any difference to the BT.
I agree the many issues that do exsist with BT are sad. Its an international standard and as such everyone should be on the same page. Hopefully it will smooth out as products mature.

I used the Jabra 500 BT with my 8100 , I took it back , my caller's complain they couldn't hear me well when in car or otherwise. Echo, static etc. Not complaining . Just didn't work correctly . I want my callers to hear me clearly . Not keep saying "huh" "what" throughout our conversation , just about everyone complained about the clarity of 500.
So if it worked for you great. I have heard the same experience from other's as well.
YOU GOT LUCKY I GUESS.

I just think that BT headsets are meadache than heaven. I am going to wait a while. Maybe then the makers of these headsets will get it right. Thanks Mort...Phone...steve and the rest.

You are right on the money . I have tried 4 b/t products and they are worthless . They are cool when you first get them but the longer you use them the more frustrated your caller's become with talking to you.
Now should this be the experince you want talking to your friends and family on the phone ? If so GO BUY ONE. I taken all 4 back and won't bother with the frustration of this technology . If you can't make a product that works correctly , why produce it ? I guess it goes back to as long as ONE person it works for sell it to everyone. Yikes , where are we going these days in sales of tech . Scary....

dont remember what thread it was a part of, but someone talked to tech support and said that the bt headsets with noise cancelling work best with the 8100, maybe try one of those?
