Bitpim or my Phone what you think?
dimmyFeb 7, 2006, 5:07 PM
OK I've been using bitpim for a while now with no real problems...until recently. Every time i load a new ringer on my phone, for whatever reason now, all my contacts assigned ringers get moved one down tho the next ringer😕 So then i have to manually go reassign all my contacts ringers to the right one again. Anyone have any insight into this? It also may help to know that i have something like 90 ringers on there. I have plenty of memory on the phone cuz all my pics/flix/mp3s and such are on my 1 gig card so i dont think its a memory issue but i dont know what else it could be ☹️

Definately not a Bitpim problem. Sounds more like a memory problem. You only have a certain amount of memory alloted to ringtones.

One thing I've noticed, not sure if this will help or not, is that once you add the ringers via bitpim, if you reboot the phone with bitpim itself, the ringers show up and work fine.
The way I do it is when I'm in the file system, I navigate to the ringers folder, add whatever ringers I want, then right click in the window and choose the option to "reboot phone".
However I have an issue that maybe someone can help me with. I don't delete the "myringer.dat and ringtonesize.dat" files. Anyway once I load in the ringers I want, reboot the phone, they show up and all is well, except for the fact that any ringtones I had in the phone prior to that get moved. Like for example....lets say my phone was set up like this. I go into contacts......
