How to delete ringtones

Is there any way to delete default ringtones, and more importantly is there any way to delete user made ringtones? I created an mp3 ringtone in bitpim, transfered it to the phone, and realized it was too quiet so I deleted it from the filesystem. But it still shows up as a choice (and of course makes no sound) on the phone. Do I delete my_ringtone.dat and/or my_ringtonesize.dat so the list will update?

No, there is no way to erase default ringtones. As far as ones put on via Bitpim, when you go to the ringtone on your phone under my_ringtones, you have the option at the bottom to erase it. If you have one of the latest versions of Bitpim, you shouldn't even mess with the filesystem. You could cause problems.

What if I didn't use BITPIM to put the ringer on? I keep getting an error when trying to look at the ringers using BITPIM and the Handset manager that I used to put the ringer on with doesn't show it being on phone.
Any suggestions Mary???
