Master volume adjustment and ringtone...

unknownfrontier

I noticed today that when I adjust my Master Volume using the side buttons that it seems to automatically accept the setting if I don't touch any buttons for about two seconds. I seems to remember that I used to have to either accept or press clear in order to get out of that screen. Can anyone tell me if this is a problem they have encountered before. So far I haven't had any other problems with my phone but now it seems like the gremlins have moved into my phone. I just hope that this isn't the start of bad things to come. 👿

Why do you call that a problem? That is just the way the phone is programmed to operate. I know that on other LG models, yes you had to press OK for it to accept the settings. But what is the big deal? Just adjust the volume to where you want it and you're done. How simple is that?

I agree.. I don't consider that a problem. If I'm resetting my volume, it doesn't take me 2 seconds to decide whether or not I want to accept the change... when I change the volume it's less than a second. Why would you want it to stay on the screen anyway?

Ever since I had the phone I've always adjusted the volume with the side buttons and then pressed okay. I supposed I've always done it within 2 seconds, so I've never waited to see if it took the setting by itself. I don't think it's a gremlin though.

I don't consider it a problem. However, I seem to remember that I could listen to the entire ringtone before. Now just recently (today), I've noticed it doing what I described above. I was just wondering if this was a sign of worse things to come. If someone could tell me this: did the phone always just play the first two seconds of the ringtone or did I imagine that it played it in its entirety before. Thanks.

I thought you were talking about the phone saving the setting of the volume of the ringtone without you pressing "ok". You're talking about going to settings and playing the ringtone? I don't believe it cuts off the ringtone, it should play the whole thing.

No, you were correct in your first assumption. Like you said, when I go into the settings and listen it plays the entire thing. It's just when I try to listen to it by using the controls on the side that it gets cut off. I hope I'm not making a mountain out of a molehill but it was bothering me all day that I couldn't remember for sure if this has always been the case. I appreciate your patience and help on this problem.

Oh ok I think I get it. I will go into settings and scroll through the ringtones and see if it gets cut off. I can't do it at work, but I will try it later and see what happens.
