Quick questions from newbee

I just ordered this phone for my girlfriend and have a few questions:

- why do you need a data cable if there is a SD card (for contacts only?)

- where do u get the data cable (if needed)

Can this phone use bluetooth headphones? If not -- does it come with regular headphones?

Thanks again everyone! This is a really good forum!

You don't need a data cable unless your going to hack the phone.

You can get a data cable of of ebay. I don't believe they make one for the 8100 but the one for the 7000 or 8000 and maybe others work. (Not quite sure on this, search the forum for a better answer to this one, I just know there isn't one just for the 8100).

Yes. The phone uses any bluetooth headset for audio only (not stereo). It does NOT comes with regular headphones, but any hands-free kind will work with this phone and you can also purchase stereo headphones to listen to your MP3's through.

Good luck and have fun with your new phone!

My phone came with a Jabra wired stereo headset. And leather case, car charger, & A/C charger. Headset isn't bad. Has gel ends for comfort.

Sotoa must have either bought the accessory pack with his phone or got it as a "free offer". The phone doesn't comes with any of this. It is extra. You may be able to weazel it out of your salesperson. Worth a try.

Well I got the phone out of contract from Ebay -- waiting for it to arrive. So no Extras will accompany it ☚ī¸

But I have a Jabra BT250v that I can share in the mean time, while I search for ways to "hook it up"

Which includes:
- Stereo headphones
- 512 Mini SD
- Case?

Thanks again. Mary, you certainly know alot about this phone! How to you rade V-Cast? Is it worth $15? Or is it like Verizon's "Give me $$ Now" Feature?

I don't have VCAST available in my area, so I have yet to check that out. They say it should be here by December, but who knows. I've heard, though, that it is very overrated.

Even though we have Vcast available here in the Phoenix area, I think $15 is a little steep. I don't think I would get that much out of it. All other things aside, the 8100 works very well as a phone. (Sorry for the lame attempt at humor)

The $15 dollar pack includes unlimited access to the mobile web,and also to get it now so you wouldn't have to wait til 9 you can use anytime without using your minutes.Plus if you ask your sales rep they will usually give the pack for free to try the first month.

Yes, they gave me the accessory pack for free. I thought everyone got this? Maybe it was a promo. I love it anyway!
