Class Action Suit - Anybody?

Ok. I just got back from the verizon store, and a rep was talking up the MP3 player in the 8100 to some poor ignorant customer. I interupted and said that as of now, only hacks will make the mp3 player work, and that the front buttons wont work either way. He said he's never heard of this, and that the mp3 player works fine out of the box. Does anyone here know of a good lawyer that can muster up a lawsuit against verizon for misrepresenting their products? I dont have hard evidence, but I'm tempted to go back to the store and take a short video clip of him telling other customers this (which can conveniently be done on my phone). If I (and other people as well) did this would this be enough to sue them? I'm really pissed off about this an...

yeah I saw someone do the same thing. they don't know what they are talking about so they make it up as they go. i had a greeter not KNOW that a new motorola was out. apparently the training for greeters is limited to clipboards 101. no 8100 display either. actual verizon store too - not Bob's phones and pagers.

I can't tell you how many times I've been in a Verizon Corporate store and heard customers asking questions and the sales people stumbling and not knowing the answer and me, myself piping up and answering the customers questions! I think Verizon should send me a check!

Sometimes the greeters are 'outsourced' from temp employment agencies... in which case they know very little, their responsibilities are literally only to greet customers as they enter - per corporate policy! They also serve to direct store traffic (technician line, sales line, etc) they have no training, and are in no way informed to do anything beyond these tasks.

Even if they are a customer care rep, or a salesperson, they STILL are not to answer questions and get involved with a customer due to the fact that they cant GREET people if they are answering your questions

I work for a local Verizon store "indirect dealer." We have a lot of customers coming in from company stores saying how they are treated badly, which helps our business, so if you don't like the way company stores treat you go to your local Indirect Dealer. Most likely you'll be a lot happier.

For further questions or you just want to talk about Verizon feel free to contact me at my personal email address. newone1001@hotmail.com

Verizon should start stealing greeters from wal mart i bet they'd know just as much about phones if not more. I work for a auth dealer too n we probably beat the coporate store in our area just beacuase of how bad their customer service is.

How about instead of paying someone $7 or $8 an hour to "greet" customers and then be otherwise completely useless they put a sign at the front of the store that points to which line is the sales line and which line is the service line and they put that money they save into properly training their reps on their products?

I can understand the "service" side of having a greeter at the door but customers don't know the difference between someone who's just there to greet and their to provide assistance. All they know is they walked into the verizon store and someone said "can I help you?" and they said "Yeah do you have the new LG phone yet?" and they replied "Ummm is that the Samsung?" ".....umm no it's an..LG." (true story. Then a week lat...

Ha, give me a break. There are bad employees at BOTH direct, and indirect outlets. I work for a corporate store and had an 80+ yr old lady come see me last week. She had just left the local auth. agent who had sold her the "latest" Motorola phone on the market, which turned out to be a V60s. Trust me, feeding customers lines of crap like that helps MY business so keep doing it. Everyone will be a lot happier.

Right on. I find it funny how Verizon Corporate employees like to bash agents like the ones i've worked for. and I'm sorry but I know more from my 2 years selling than their salespeople, customer service or "techs" if u could even call them that. All they even do is determine if they can send it back to the manufacurer or not. Personally, If a phone is out of warrenty, I can fix it on the spot with about a %75 success rate.

Most corporate salespeople (myself included) bash agents who don't know what they are talking about. This could include corporate or indirect employees. Stupidity is the great equalizer. For your info, our "techs" are contractually bound by their company, which is NOT VERIZON, not to open up or work on phones. BTW, I've worked for VZW for 5 years and during that time I've learned how to spell warranty, manufacturer, and 75%.

I'm not a lawyer, but I doubt you'd have a case. I believe you'd have to prove malicious intent and Verizon of deceptive practices. I reasonably certain that the correct information is passed along to all the employees and training classes are given, this I know from my friends that work at Verizon. It's up to the individual to assimilate the knowledge.
Go to a couple of car dealerships and see how much misinformation is given there. Sometimes it's hard to find good help.

Exactly. I'm an agent and I often wish that there was one universal Verizon training for everybody. We have it here, but I can't count how many people come in here after talking to agent X elsewhere and having to sort through everything they've been told that makes no sense whatsoever. It's basically relearning them everything. That's my job, sure, but a lot of customers have this info in their minds that simply isn't true, and often it can be difficult to sell to them (i.e., they've been quoted better prices, deals, etc.).

I am ready to join a group to Sue Verizon.
I researched and waited for the VX8100 for many months and after getting it I am very unhappy about how it was designed and marketed by the internal salespeople at the store and not functioning properly.

My biggest 2 grips about the phone, the MP3 player not easily working and definitely not working with headphones closed with the front controls, and the poor functionality of the camera. I tested 4 LG phones with Verizon staff and pointed out the inferior photo quality. We even took the VX8000 & 8940 and took the same picture and showed them that the lines were straight, the noise wasn't there, and text was good with the other phones.

I made sure all the setting were at premium settings so ...

Get it Now downloads are credited if the phone is replaced due to something covered by the manufacturer warranty. You have to redownload everything, wait a few days then call to get it credited back.
