I just re-activated my LG-6000 and the 8100 is going back today!

The "straw that broke the camel's back" was when I called Verizon and I couldn't even hear THEM!

I'm not gonna put up with the volume problem anymore! I've had it!!

Of course, I still love the phone. But I'll wait a little while longer to see if Verizon finally fixes all the problems and quirks.

Also, I tried sending myself a photo by email, and the 8100 wouldn't accept it. When I re-activated the 6000, it accepted and formatted it, no problem. Now it's my wallpaper!!

Naturally, I'll still be here on the "scoop" checking things out.

Good luck, everyone!!! 🙂

BTW, when I spoke to a Verizon technician while reactivating my old phone, he did admit that they have had many calls about the volume and other problems with the 8100.

But I still feel that it is software related only, and not hardware. It's Verizon's doing, not LG's. 😎

I totally agree with you concerning the software issue, I haven't any problems YET but when the Samsung SCH-A970 comes out then this phone is history. This was just a replacement for 3 defective (all software related) 8000's.

I just wanted to say, when calling VZW, almost always with this cell phone, my last cell phone, even my home phone, I've gotten static AND difficult to hear at times. Anyone else notice this or is it just me??????????

I haven't noticed any static, but they always sound kinda faint, I always have to turn up my volume - maybe that's why everyone thinks this phone's volume is bad? 😁

Man that sucks. Hate to hear you had to take it back. It's unfortunate, but hopefully it is something that LG will correct soon. As far as the low sound on Verizon's end, I think it's fairly common that they are difficult to hear. Every single time we call them here at work to get help, we always have to turn up our phone volume. That's not just on cells either, it's our land-line. I read your review that you had been having the issue from day one, though. At least you've got a killer phone to fall back on, and you may be glad it turned out this way once the 970 comes out! 😁 😉

OK, guys. What makes you think that the SCH-A970 is going to be any better? Don't you think that they are going to f**k with the Bluetooth on that too? It's like a computer, screw with the software and the preferences get corrupted. Look at Apple, (for all our mac users), at what they did to the last update. Messed up the entire operating system. It's basically the same thing.

Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!! I did return the phone today! 😢

I gave it 7 days of trial which I feel is enough.

But 7 days is also enough to fall in love with it, which I did! So this is not the end of the 8100 story for me! 😁

I was just tired of straining myself to hear.

I do want to say that it was NOT on every call that had a problem. But, when there's an intermittent problem, I think that's the worst kind.

So, my 6000 is back in service and GREAT.

I'm a picky person, and as such, I have to be patient. So I'll wait a little longer until things straighten out and I'll get the 8100 then!

In the meantime, I don't have to think about the "15 days" anymore.

Thanks again, everyone. Of course,...
