8100 - - 815 or???

I have a basic question and I am hoping the more professional people on here can help me determine whether in fact either the 8100 or the 815 (or perhaps a lesser phone) is what I am looking for:

My analogy: I would love a 911 but perhaps I only need a Boxster! I don't really care about Streaming Video and while having a nice camera would be nice my main interest in a phone is: latest technology (including Bluetooth); great reception and great sound (with both the ear speaker as well as speaker phone), sufficient memory to download rings (I don't care about MP3 downloads) and convenience in a light small phone.

We will be new Verizon customers but I am going to wait a month (before purchasing) to see the reviews on the 8100 and 815 - ...

As strange as it may sound, it really depends on what part of the country you live in. I reside in the southwest and so far the least problematic phones seem to be the new LG. When I say LG I don't just mean the 8100.

If you had asked me 2 years ago I would have told you to stay as far away from the LG product as possible. Lately they have been putting out a great product and they also have some of the highest ratings.

The only question I have would be, what are you going to use bletooth for? Most people I have worked with have asked for bluetooth but never really used it. If it is a must then wait. LG is putting it in the 8100 but they are also going to release a few more handsets with it as well. It might be worth seeing what is co...

Thanks for your response

I, too, am in the (hot) Southwest (Las Vegas) -for that reason I am going to sign up with Verizon as they have a pretty strong signal where I live in South Summerlin. To answer your question: I know you can use a wireless headset with a Bluetooth phone and that is about all I know about Bluetooth and what I would use it for.

everything superted76 said makes sense to me. i've seen less issues with the new lg's than the new moto's, just my opinion. i also own a recent lg(the 7000) which has worked flawlessly for me for over a year now. you've got the right idea in waiting for them both to be out a few weeks before buying. i don't think you would have to wait for the next phones to come down the pipe though. either of these two phones should fit your needs.
cheers!

When it comes to bluetooth you have a few options. To have it built into the phone is very nice. There are also bluetooth headsets that have an adapter that plugs into the headset jack of the phone. The price on these kits has come down quite a bit in the past year.

If a kit will work for you, than I highly recommend the LG VX-7000. I have had one since they were first released about a year ago and I have yet to have a problem. The only issue is it does not have a speakerphone.

Right! And a speakerphone is somewhat important to me.

I appreciate all of your responses. I'll wait till each phone has been on the market for 30 days and let the using public steer me to the right phone.

I would suggest the moto because my dad lives in summerlin and my lg6000 DOES NOT work in his house. I don't know if having a cell phone that works in your house is important to you, but I hated that I would drop calls in house. Last time that I went to visit with my v710 I didn't have an issue. That and motos usually have great speakerphones.
