I read on the page below that the 8100 has a CCD camera and not a CMOS as PhoneScoop has it. Look at the 8100 section about at the middle of the page. And it says the same about the 8000 too

the launch package i have from lg states the 8100 has a 1.3 megapixel cmos camera with up to 8x digital zoom. the same resource for the 8000 states ccd with 4x zoom. to be honest i've got no clue what the difference is between ccd and cmos or which one is better. anyone got input on this??

I read this on a thread before. The 8100 camera is actually not as good at the 8000. CMOS somehow takes pictures differently than CCD and is worse. How? I don't know.

There is a difference in how they process the image. It used to be that cmos was of poor quality. Now they are almost equall and are less costly and use less energy when the chip processes the image.
