Serious question. Why all the hype about the VX 8100? Is it offering some new cutting edge technology, some ground breaking new features? Will I be able to just think about calling somebody and the phone will dial the number? Fact is, this is just another camera phone with "restricted" features so Verizon can cash in on all of us. Limited bluetooth, all about the money for VZW!!

Yes, I need a new phone. Yes, I like the VX 8100. Does that mean when it finally comes out I will be able to do something that has never been possible before? NO, I will still be able to call somebody and send the occasional pic/text message as before.

Calm down, it will happen. And when it does, a few days will pass and the phone will be outdated. O...

I know there seems to be a huge demand for this phone.

Personally i want the phone cause I am a big LG fan and have not upgraded my phone since the VX7000. I realize its not that old but I like having the new stuff. I also like the fact it has 512 MB of memory built into it and a slot to add more memory. and with a built in MP3 player I can add about 10-20 cds with a memory stick inserted (assuming the memory is allotted properly) Personally I have never had a phone with bluetooth or even used a bluetooth adapter so the idea of it is pretty cool to someone who never uses it.

man every body that puts the 8100 down is forgetting that the only other phone you can talk wireless headset without that stupid little adapter is the motorola v710 a piece of garbage i had one . the 8100 is a blutooth phone whether you say restricted or not to me its a huge upgrade from having to use that adapter hanging off your phone plus bieng able to voice dial without touching your phone.
that is monumental why is everybody else oblivious to this very definate differrance!! 🤣

bt headsets are awesome. that is the sole reason i left my vx6000. I have had very very few problems with my 710, which all were taken care of when i sent my phone to motorola (longest 3 weeks of my life) at no cost to me. I too am an LG fan, and independant voice recognition is one of the greatest things that phones can do. It's so much nicer and more reliable than old fashioned training. If the 8100 recognition is any bit as good as the vx4500 it's going to be a very handy feature to have.
