LG VX-8100
Release?
Talked to a customer service rep in a Verizon store near Pittsburgh, PA. My friend was there paying her bill and I just asked about the 8100 for the hell of it. The girl said that they had the phone in the back room but the release date keeps getting pushed back? Not sure if she was telling the truth or not but I didn't push the issue because I am patient and can wait...LOL...

yeah, I couldn't verify it was the truth but figured I would just put it out there. That is what she told me, but we all know how some poeple talk...

i know that a store in Cincinnati had it and were giving it out to particular customers for testing. I, however, was not privilaged to have one though.

I gave my manager my name and shes getting one too as soon as we're able to order them. Our phone suppliers havent given us any word yet either. Waiting sucks, this phone better live up to the hype.

In June Sync magazine, they say this phone coming out for the summer for both Sprint and Verizon network. Does anyone know if that there any truth to that.

This is a load of crap. I was just in a VZW store in the Pgh, PA area today and asked about this phone. I was told that its release was delayed due to a problem with the camera in production of the phone. And that was directly from an LG rep's mouth.

Well maybe that is just Mass Production. But it has been produced for some test markets as well as some corporate employees.
I don't know, but man sometimes I get super pissed when someone says something about the release date. Esperially when it is about it being pushed back. I haven't got a new phone since the LG VX-4500 came out, before that I was getting new phones every three months. Literally!
But I have had two LG phone in my time at Verizon and I didn't like the first one that much cause I was Motorized, but I have since converted. Good thing to, because LG is the best.

You are correct. That is mass production that was delayed due to a camera issue.
Sorry to disappoint you, but like I said previously, it was not just a VZW rep that said that, but the LG rep was there too.

He said it was something to do with the positioning of it and the antenna being in the way. Looks impossible with the pictures of it, but he was very clear that there was a problem with the camera.

According to the LG rep, this was noticed immediately, but they wanted to wait to see if any other issues came up that needed to be fixed before they began mass production.

Are you sure that they are talking about this phone? The same exact thing happened with the motorola v810 and they (verizon) decided not to use the phone at all. When the antenna was extended you could see it in the pictures. It seems odd that the same thing would happen twice.

Yes, I am 100% sure we were talking about the LG VX-8100. I specifically asked about this phone because I have the 8000 and I wanted to buy the 8100.

ok stragiht forward here it is...as a vzw rep we are not "allowed" to disclose when this phone will be out. Here is the skinny...its coming soon... i know not what you wanted to hear but the actual fac of the matter is that they will not GIVE us a release date for this phone, as we are a no disclosure company. See the clues on when...soon..check out the packaging for the current LG car charger phones its listed right on there Lg-8100...well just hold tight it will be out sooner or later..think july early august..they want to capitolize on the BACK TO SCHOOL thing
