No flashlight? Are you serious?! 🙄

I would assume you are joking. After I get this phone, I would see no reason to get a new one unless this one broke to a million pieces. It has everything I would ever want: BT, MP3, camera, storage space. This combined with one of thsoe new PSP's, and I'm digital set.

Yep- Kudos to LG and a BIG raspberry to Verizon! See this from Phonescoop's CTIA review-
The VX-8100 also adds Bluetooth and a miniSD card slot. However, it appears that a certain carrier has imposed their infamous "crippling" on these features. First, the Bluetooth feature only supports the Headset, Handsfree, and Dial-Up-Networking profiles - no OBEX. As for the card slot, in our hands-on tests, the miniSD card slot was strictly limited to playing MP3s loaded onto the card from a PC or other source. The card could not be used to store or transfer photos or videos, nor transfer ringtones, wallpapers, etc.

Is anybody concerned about the battery life?

Not necessarly, I have found that my 8000, with almost the same features as the 8100, last a lot longer than my 4500 which has only 1/5th the features, I think since tehy switched to li Polymer that the batter life has increased a lot
