I need opinions from people currenly using the E816 with Amp'd Mobile. Just some quick questions, and I'm appreciative of any replies:

1) Does the E816 work well, as well as the E815?

2) How is the coverage? Do you get good signal? Ampd Mobile assures me that they use Verizon network, and this is important to me because Verizon is the only carrier with a signal inside my house!

3) How is your experience with the customer service?

I checked the CNET site, and the user's reviews for this phone and Ampd Mobile is a bit unusual. One out of five users gave it a 9/10, while the other four gave it only 1/10 with many different complaints (e.g., rebates are not honored, phone crashes all the time, very weak reception, unhelpful customer...

Got the 816 November.

1) Very pleased. Works great. Never had the 815, but from what I read its basically the same, if not better.

2) Great coverage for me. Better than Cingular and TMobile which I had/tried. Seems like a good combination of Verizon network and the pnone.

3) Used CS once so far. Wanted info on certain accessories. Very helpful. After not finding the item on Ampd site, located the item in the external general Motorola site, at like half at the Ampd price.

4) I based my decision mainly on 815 reviews of which there are many compared to 816. In either case I found significant positive weighting; like 8/10 positive. I was particulary impressed by several reviewers saying this exact same statement... '...be...

Thanks for the info. I ordered the E816 a week ago, and basically I agree with your assessment. Ampd Mobile people say they use Verizon's network, and it seems true. Signal strength is great (full bar inside my room, as strong as Verizon). Hollywood is almost identical to the E815 (A Verizon phone I've been using), but I ordered the Hollywood directly from Ampd Mobile site, and it came with a 128MB card, stereo earphone, and a USB cable. I already have a 1GB card and a Motorola stereo earphone (which is better than the free one from Ampd), but the USB cable is nice.

I kind of like the E815 better, though. Right now I can't figure out how to make playlist for mp3 songs. The method I use with the E815 doesn't work with the E816 :-(

Can't help you out with mp3. I'm still using the 816 as a basic phone. Wonder if anyone else knows how, if possible?

Hey Chair,
For grins, ran this by email tech support. They wrote back and said they would like to have a phone conversation to discuss further - 866.811.0091. Since I am not into the mp3 thing and you are, you should call them and see what happens. Refer to issue: 816 MP3 PLAYLIST #13608.

HI there. Did you end up ordering the amp'd Hollywood in December. If you did, do you still have a copy of the rebate form. It would be so great for me, if you or anyone else could get a copy to me as they no longer have it up on their website. Thank you so much in advance.
