Motorola E815 / E816 Hollywood

It figures, I was about to switch from Cingular to Verizon and buy this phone and they discontinue it. Does anyone know what the successor to this phone is, or at least the phone that most closely resembles this one?

Trust me you DO NOT want an 815 or any variation of it. I'm not getting into a pissing match with the 815 lovers here but I have never seen such a low QC product in years.

There is no true successor to this phone. The RAZR is the high end Moto right now, although the v325 is more like the e815, but isnt a high end phone like the 815 was.

Yes, but what about Amp'd's version the E816, or Hollywood as they call it? I know its not discontinued but how much longer will that be around for? and does anyone know what is on the horizon for Amp'd as far as new phones?

I'm sure you've heard or seen by now, but this phone is STILL out there to buy, but not by Verizion (although I have read a few people saying some of the in-house Verizion kiosks inside certain Circuit City's still have a few). Look on e-bay, they're there, just higher in price than what some of us paid for ours'. but well worth it, if you need a phone with great reception.
