I've heard that vibration is actually emitted from the battery. Would buying another battery improve the weak vibrate mode? Like if the v710 has a stronger vibrate, perhaps I can get a v710 battery and pop it into the E815???

The vibrate is not part of the battery AFAIK. Maybe I'm more sensitive to it, but I have no issues with the strength of the vibrate on my phone, even after adding the heavier extended life battery.

I talked to my tech about the vibrate problem and they said that the new firmware wasnt supposed to do anything to the vibrate, but it sounds like it is having an effect for some people.

I just had my phone flashed this past weekend with the new firmware and my vibrate mode seems to have improved as well. The vibrate mode now appears to be sufficiently strong that I always will feel it when I have the phone on its holster, although it is not as strong as on the LG VX-8100, which has a very strong vibrate mode.
