The 8100 will be nothing more than a small brick. Eat Motorola's dust!

"8100 Kills this phone"

Could be... I'm also a big fan of LG. But, how long will it take to get the price down to $99?

If the past LG phone introductions are any indicator, it will be quite a while before they drop to the $100 mark. Since price is one of many deciding factors for me, I'm very happy with the E815 I just purchased.

The price stated for the 8100 on infocenter is $199 with a two year with my NE2 and $50 rebate that works out to less than $99 With the 8100 i won't have to deal with moto's software problems their unreliable battery issues and the horrible menu config. on the E815 watch it after a few days and see if it starts to scratch itself on the top everytime you open it like the 710 does.

Is that $199 after NE2 two year contract or before?

I wonder what the video quality difference is between the 815 and the 8100 (quality not simply the length)?

$199 then you get $100 NE2 and $50 rebate.

As for the video my LG 7000 was better than my friends 710 by quite a bit so i can only assume that the new LG will be better than the new moto

Be prepared to be told that your total discount is $100. That means that your NE2 is $50 + $50 rebate =$100 off. The days of the $100 NE2 plus the rebate is coming to an end. VZW has been cracking down on the fact that more $100 is being taken on the 2yr contract price of a phone.

This is not true at all. You get up to $100 off. So if the phone is $199, you get $100 off up front in the store making it $99 and then get an additional $50 back with the rebate. If the phone is only $99 you get $50 off in the store and $50 back in the mail.

Ok Koolshaggy. Don't be surprised when what I said becomes the norm.

"see if it starts to scratch itself on the top every time you open it like the 710 does"

If you're talking about the area just above the camera lens, I'm not sure that's possible since the 815 has metal in that area. It looks like brushed aluminum. I didn't have the 710 so I'm not sure if that area was plastic or not.

from my personal experiences with lg phones, i would rather have a motorola or samsung when it comes to verizon, lg phones seem to cut out a lot more, and the difference in reception(no mattter what people say, that phones dont matter) is huge!

I am a HUGE fan of LG phones, and I had both the V710 and the VX-8000. I must admit, my 8000 cut out MUCH more than my V710 did. Motorola definately has LG beat when comparing those 2 phones.

I just bought 2 815s and so far I don't think any phone would have to do much to be better than the 2 I got.

I used an (older) LG for a few weeks and I didn't that was too hot either.

Maybe the cell phone mfg are sticking so much crap like cameras and mp3 players that they forgot how to make a phone that works well and sounds good.
