Good eye. You're correct, Verizon is steering towards all digital as apposed to tri-mode because analog while be almost non existant in the following years (hopefully by 2007).
They're coverage is rapidly growing to take the place of analog. Most phones that will be released from Verizon from now in will be all digital.
