It may have something to do with Sprint's internal management or R$D. Maybe they haven't been able to come up with a similar model that receives as well as a GSM model. Maybe they just told Samsung outright to put an antenna on their handsets. Verizon has a policy in effect that EVERY phone sold through them should have some sort of external antenna. Sprint offers an LG model that doesn't have any trace of an external antenna. Try that one out.
